HMLRC Board

Hungry Mother Lutheran Retreat Center (HMLRC) is a 501(c)(3) organization that is managed by a board of 10 members that meet on a quarterly basis to see to the well-being of the facility.

One of the members is Synod Representative (we are associated with the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) whose position is a standing one. From time-to-time, that person is replace by another representative, but it allows us to maintain close ties.

All board members have a voice and a vote. The terms are a 3-year commitment with a maximum of 2 consecutive terms per member (with the exception of the Synod representative). Board members must be a member of one of the churches in the Highlands Conference. As a result of this, every year (in October), we elect 3 new members (as 3 members will be reaching the end of their term and we need to fill those positions). We have a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer among the board members that are voted in for a 1-year term in January.
